Okay! Those of you who know the first part of this story can skip it! In the past two years we have attempted to be a pet friendly home! I had this great desire to have my kids grow up with a pet as I did when I was a kid. So the story begins.........
Two years ago, around Novemberish (this month is important), I saw a man selling Golden Lab puppies, so I bought one on impulse. We named her Daisy. After 9 months of pure torcher (read, Marley and Me, and you'll understand) we gave her to a loving home in the country where she would spend her days running through the fields and playing with other dogs.
We Soon after in January bought a cat! It was a retired Devon Rex, beautiful chocolate point, we got him home and he hated the kids and used my house as his litter box. Stupid cat! We gave him back to the breeder. At this point I was done; I would do research on pets that were more suitable with our life style and conditions. My results were a Miniature Schnauzer. Great I thought I will wait and be patient than we can try again.
In November I saw a lady selling Miniature Schnauzers along the road! Yes! I stopped and again on impulse bought one. Should I mention that Todd didn't know until later. Poor guy, what he puts up with. Bennett is his name and for the most part things were awesome. I than gave birth to Lauren and had no time to take care of Bennett. Poor guy! We gave him to a loving home. A couple who adores and adorns their Miniature Schnauzer and wanted Bennett. The kids were all crying, I was crying it was for the best though!
All this leads up to my latest crazy dog experience. November, what is it with this month? I no longer thought we would get a dog. Todd how ever promised Joshua that he with his own money could buy one. During Priesthood session I went to be with some friends and one of my friends mentioned (knowing very well my dog history) that a girl in our ward was going to get rid of her Miniature Schnauzer. To make a long story short. I didn't buy on impulse, I consulted with Todd, and Joshua payed for 1/2 of her we payed the other half; he gets the head we get the butt. This story does have a happy ending. Her name is Jetta and we love her she is almost a year old and is awesome with the kids. No accidents in the house!!!!! She is what I have been searching for. Call me crazy!!
All of my friends here laugh at me; she is here for good!

Best of luck and I'm sure it will all work out this time. After all - it's October not November!
That is too funny! I too want to give my kids the opportunity to have pets....BUT I have changed so much since my days of laying down and sleeping with my own dog. The hair drives me nuts....I dog sat my sisters dog this past weekend...well he puked on my BED and pooped on my dining room floor!!! YUP, that confirmed I am not ready for a dog in my house again!
I felt like Jochabed, giving up my little canine daughter and running buddy for a better life. I'm glad Jetta has a loving family with lots of playmates.
Enjoy her. She is a great dog.
That is too funny! I love that story...even though your the crazy lady...I mean crazy "dog" lady! LOL!
